Tiffin University proudly welcomes high school and college pop, jazz and contemporary vocal groups for an educational and noncompetitive festival held on the TU campus and at The Ritz Theatre on Friday, March 31, 2023.
You and your a cappella, vocal jazz, barbershop or choral ensemble are invited to join other groups from around the region and a team of outstanding guest artists and clinicians for performances and workshops, and an opportunity for your group to be featured in the evening concert at the beautiful and historic RItz Theatre. After all student ensembles perform, two groups will be chosen by adjudicators to be featured in the evening concert.
FESTIVOX SCHEDULE
8:00am to 5:00pm - School group performances, workshops, and masterclasses
7:00pm - Evening concert at The Ritz Theatre, featuring guest artists, Tiffin University ensembles, and select high school groups
GUEST ARTISTS & CLINICIANS
Cleveland native Reginald Bowens is an accomplished vocalist, pianist, educator, arranger and entrepreneur. He was a member of Afro-Blue, appearing on season three of NBC's "The Sing-Off", and has performed with Bobby McFerrin, Smokey Robinson, Kenny Loggins, and many other noted artists. He has served on the faculty of Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland State University, The Music Settlement, and the Eastman Community Music School. He holds degrees from Howard University and Indiana University, and is a doctoral candidate at The Eastman School of Music.
Holly Wessels is a classical, musical theatre, and pop vocalist and performer from Dayton. Getting her start as a member of Kettering Fairmont High School’s award-winning a cappella group, Eleventh Hour, Holly has served on the staff of Camp A Cappella, toured as a member of the professional a cappella group, Vocalight, collaborated with Peter Hollens, appeared as a background vocalist on Pentatonix's 2015 self-titled album, and was a cast member for Disney's D Cappella.
Heatbox is a Minneapolis-based funky beatboxing loop artist, video game show host, voice-over actor, and computer programmer. He has performed with or in front of many of the world’s biggest musical acts, and wowed crowds on some of the biggest stages. He appeared with Home Free on The Sing-Off national tour, and was featured on America's Got Talent and on tour as the resident beatboxer for the multifaceted funk & tap band Rhythmic Circus.
